Grassroots Governance | Community Impact
Delta State is divided into 25 Local Government Areas (LGAs)—each serving as a hub for grassroots governance, development, and public service delivery. The Local Government system brings government closer to the people, allowing for tailored responses to community needs and priorities.
At All Deltan Forum, we are committed to connecting citizens with their local authorities and promoting inclusive development across all regions of Delta State.
Functions of LGAs
Each Local Government Area is constitutionally empowered to:
-
Provide basic education, healthcare, and sanitation services.
-
Maintain local roads, markets, and recreational centers.
-
Promote local economic development and community empowerment.
-
Serve as a link between rural communities and state-level policies.
