The All Deltan Forum recognizes and upholds the importance of strong governance in promoting unity, development, and accountability within Delta State. Our Executive Council page is dedicated to profiling the leadership structure of the Executive Council of Delta State, the apex decision-making body of the state government.

What is the Executive Council of Delta State?

The Executive Council of Delta State, often referred to as the State Cabinet, is the highest administrative and policy-making body in the Delta State Government. It operates under the leadership of the Governor of Delta State, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the state.

This council plays a vital role in the formulation and implementation of state policies, development programs, and executive decisions that impact the lives of Deltans across all 25 local government areas.

Key Members of the Executive Council

  • Governor of Delta StateHead of the Executive Council

    • Oversees the overall governance of the state and leads the council in setting the strategic direction.

  • Deputy GovernorPrincipal Assistant to the Governor

    • Assists the Governor in executing executive duties and may act on the Governor’s behalf when required.

  • Secretary to the State Government (SSG)

    • Coordinates policy implementation and ensures inter-ministerial collaboration.

  • Chief of Staff

    • Manages the Governor’s schedule and serves as a key advisor.

  • Commissioners

    • Each commissioner heads a specific ministry (e.g., Health, Education, Finance, Agriculture) and contributes to policy decisions in their domain.

  • Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice

    • Serves as the chief legal advisor to the state and ensures legal compliance in governance.

  • Special Advisers and Senior Assistants

    • Appointed by the Governor to provide expertise in critical areas like infrastructure, youth development, ICT, and more.
