Hello all,
In recent years, we’ve seen technology evolve faster than most governments can respond. From generative AI and facial recognition to blockchain, cybercrime, and data privacy — the gap between innovation and regulation is becoming increasingly visible.
As someone in the tech industry, I often wonder:
🔹 How can policymakers keep up with disruptive technologies without stifling innovation?
🔹 What should be the government’s role in areas like AI governance, digital surveillance, and cybersecurity?
🔹 Are our democratic institutions — especially in developing nations — prepared to regulate tech in the public’s best interest?
We’ve already seen the impact of unregulated platforms on elections, public opinion, and even national security. At the same time, overregulation or poorly informed policies can cripple local innovation.
I’d love to hear your views — especially from people in governance, law, policy, or civic advocacy.
